For the first time in a very long time, limousin bulls and cows were present in the heart of Limoges, an event that attracted both actors of the beef industry and the general public. During three days, they were able to look at sixty top quality animals coming from the best herds of the limousin region. Two shows took place on the Sunday. 12 bulls competed in the livestock show and IMPORT from the Tournier herd was champion. GAGNANTE from the Pédière herd was best animal of the fatstock show. But the real business started on the Monday morning with a novelty : the auction sale of carcasses of milk fed veals in the cold rooms of the Limoges slaughterhouse at the initiative of Thierry Borde, the director the CV Plainemaison. Back at the Place de la République, the 12 livestock bulls were auctionned in front of many french and foreign buyers (from England, Wales, Spain, Greece, Italy and Romania). The top price of 10 400€ went to Import from the Tournier herd. In the afternoon, Jean-Luc Kress auctionned the 50 fat stock cows and heifers to traditional butchers and buyers from various supermarket. The average price reached 5000€. The top price went to the cow from the Pédière herd that sold for 15 000€.
