Prestige XIX with its 68 cows and heifers was the biggest fatstock show and sale ever organised by a slaughtering company!
With only one breed in the spotlight : the limousin breed!
Many buyers from all parts of France, butchers, chefs, supermarkets gathered in Limoges to admire the beautiful selection of cows and heifers, the most famous being Joel Robuchon the chef with a total of 25 Michelin Guide stars.
The champion and best animal of the show was the heifer born at GAEC du Plessis : she weighed 1015 kg and was sold for 17 500€ to 2 buyers, a butcher in Paris and the Restaurant de l’Abattoir in Limoges. The young cow champion came from the Valadas herd in Haute Vienne and was sold to a Super U supermarket near Paris for 10 800€. The adult cow championship went to SCEA du Grand Bourdelas. She was bought by a Leclerc supermarket for 7000€. The best hindquarter was awarded to GAEC Marcailloux in Correze and was sold to a butcher in Paris for 12 000€.
All the animals were sold and the average price was over 6 000€. The second edition of the Limousin days in Limoges city centre was again a great success and the opportunity for everybody to acknowledge the remarkable work of the limousin breeders. We thank and congratulate Beauvallet Plainemaison.
